Regarding the article posted on 7 November 2025《罗弄哈鲁士建巴士车厂引破坏生态忧虑》,Nature Society Singapore would like to clarify that what has been quoted is an unauthorised representation of Nature Society Singapore. In principle, we respect and understand the need to develop key infrastructure in the area.

However, the area in question is 10-year wild-growth regeneration site from Serangoon River Road to Buangkok East Drive. It is also contiguous with a 25-year wild-growth woodland from Buangkok East Drive towards Lorong Halus wetland and to Coney Island Park. The habitat is herbaceous with scattered trees, along with clusters of closed canopy woodland. Nature Society Singapore has identified this forest as an Area of Biodiversity Importance due to the exceptional bird diversity from the area. Through surveys we have conducted, we have recorded 157 bird species, of which 52 are of conservation status  (based on the Red Data Book (3rd Edition) and 72 are migratory species.

Nature Society Singapore is recommending that public consultations be conducted for the area, so that loss of wild growth habitat and biodiversity can be properly mitigated.
