DESCRIPTION:What is the Swallowtail Race about?\nParticipants will be racing in their teams to spot the Swallowtail butterflies.\nThe aim of the race is to spot as many individuals and as many species of the Swallowtail butterflies. \nWhen & Where is the race?\n2 August 2025\, Saturday.\nRace timing: 8am – 3pm @ Anywhere in Singapore\, depending on the teams’ choice\nAward & Closing Ceremony: 3pm – 6pm @ Mapletree Business City \nWho can participate in the race?\nOpen to the public\n3 to 5 pax per team\nEach team has to register with at least 1 experienced butterfly watcher.\nIf the team does NOT have an experienced butterfly watcher\, NSS will help the team pair up with experienced butterfly watcher(s).\nRegardless\, each team has to consist of 3 – 5 members when registering\nNote: Participants must be aged 12 and above \nRegistration\nRegistration fee is $10/pax. A forest bathing experience will follow at the end of the walk\, explore how we can adopt and add forest bathing exercises to our self-care routine. \nWhat is Forest Bathing?\n“Forest Bathing”\, or “immersing oneself in a forest atmosphere” is a slow and intentional practise of being with the forest or green space. Not just walking through it\, but being present in the natural environment\, engaging in a series of relaxation and nature connection activities. The experience aims to connect us with nature through our 5 senses\, enhancing our sense of well-being\, relieving stress\, encouraging relaxation and can help stimulate creativity. SUMMARY:Earth Month: Enjoy Butterflies at Pulau Ubin!
DESCRIPTION:Open to the Public\nButterfly Hill in Pulau Ubin lives up to its name!  On good weather days\, the hill is alive with many fluttering wings of our lovely native butterflies.  The ‘Tiger’ butterflies are usually represented by the Blue Glassy Tiger\, Dark Glassy Tiger and Plain Tiger. SUMMARY:World Wildlife Day Birdwatching at Kranji Marshes
DESCRIPTION:Open to the Public \nJoin experienced guides from NSS Bird Group in exploring the core area of Kranji Marshes Nature Park.  The paths and hides here offer excellent views across the freshwater marshes.  Birding highlights include residents such as the Red-wattled Lapwing\, Changeable Hawk Eagle and Gray-headed Fish Eagle and winter visitors such as the Common and Black-capped Kingfisher.  Meeting time is at 7.30 am at Sungei Buloh Wetland Centre Visitor Centre and a hired bus will ferry the group to the start of the walk at Turut Track. This is a 3-hour walk excluding travel time to and from Turut Track. \nThis walk is in support of World Wildlife Day. DESCRIPTION:Open to the Public\nWorld Water Day is held on 22 March every year since 1993\, to celebrate freshwater and to raise awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water. \nLorong Halus Wetlands\, located along the eastern bank of Serangoon Reservoir\, collects and treats water passing through the former landfill\, before it flows into the reservoir\, thus safeguarding the quality of water in the reservoir. \nJoin Robin Ngiam and Lena Chow to explore the water filtration ponds at the Lorong Halus Wetlands and admire various dragonfly species e.g. Dancing Dropwings\, Common Scarlets\, Blue Perchers\, Variegated Green Skimmers\, which are regularly found at this unique place. \nParticipants are to be well on the day of the activity and must wear a mask if they are coughing or sneezing.
