"Singapore Birds on the Brink - Our Threatened Birds in Pictures" Photo Exhibition

Date : 16 Aug 2019 - 23 Aug 2019
Time : All Day Event
Location : Venue: Vivocity, Southeast Boulevard, Level 1 (near The Queen & Mangosteen)

Open to the Public

Nearly a third of our resident bird species are currently threatened with extinction and documented in our Red Data Book. One of the best known is the Straw-headed Bulbul, a species recognised by the IUCN as Critically Endangered and recently the focus of an NSS/BirdLife-led conservation workshop. To promote better awareness of our endangered birds to the public, NSS and Mapletree Investments is jointly organising the ‘Threatened Birds of Singapore’ Photography Exhibition at Vivocity.

The exhibition will bring together a specially curated series of works by Singapore’s leading bird photographers. The exhibition will also promote the 35th Singapore Bird Race, coming up in November 2019, and there will be opportunities to find out more about the race, and how to take part in it.

Volunteers are needed to help man the exhibition on Sat & Sun, 17 & 18 Aug, 10am to 9pm.

Volunteers roles include:
- Engage the public
- Promote NSS and our work
- Encourage volunteerism
- Encourage participation in the upcoming Bird Race
- Encourage membership
- Any other adhoc tasks/duties

Pre-exhibition Briefing
Depending on your chosen day, volunteers will need to attend a pre-exhibition briefing on either Saturday OR Sunday at 9am at Starbucks, level 1, next to Jamie's Italian, Vivocity, conducted by Ding Li.
