Kayak the Mandai Mangroves

Drivers: Kranji Reservoir Carpark A. A transfer service will send you to the starting point at Kranji MRT station, where we will meet up with the non-drivers at 8 am.

Join Huey to explore the Mandai Mangroves on kayak. This paddle is suitable for beginners as the kayaks are comfortable and stable double-seaters. We will be exploring two rivers, Sungei Mandai Besar and Sungei Mandai Kechil, where large mature mangroves exist alongside structures of abandoned kampongs. This coastal tract is home to a permanent population of Horseshoe Crabs. We might even spot Brahminy Kites and White-bellied Sea Eagles circling overhead. 

Time/Directions: For those driving, we will meet at 7.30 am at Kranji Reservoir Carpark A. A transfer service will send you to the starting point at Kranji MRT station, where we will meet up with the non-drivers at 8 am. 

Registration: Please register with Kerry Pereira ( or at the NSS website stating your name and if you are a NSS member or not. 

Attire: Do wear sun protection attire and proper footwear, and bring along a cap, sunblock, water, snacks and a change of clothes. 

Toilets: Available at End Point at Carpark A

Provided: Kayaks, paddles, PDFs, guides

Min/Max: 16/24 pax. 

Please note that the event is subject to cancellation in the event of adverse weather and/or not meeting the minimum numbers. A replacement trip will be offered if cancellation is due to weather. 

Participants must be at least 4 years old. Those 12 years old and below must be accompanied by at least one parent in the same kayak. Guardians are not allowed. 

Closing date: 17 May.  Acceptance is on a first come, first served basis once payment is made.

Price (NSS members): $55 (cheque) / $58 (online payment). 
Price (non-members): $70 (cheque) / $73 (online payment). 

Cheques should be made out to ‘Nature Society (Singapore)’.
